Virtual Exodus?
the ICE shooting in Minneapolis happened a week ago. This information crossed my desk, so to speak, because I'm on Instagram and Tumblr. As infuriated as I was to hear that this happened, I did not watch any footage. My nervous system can't handle it.
What I did watch were tens of videos of outraged people on Instagram, each time I absent-mindedly opened the app and doom-scrolled.
It started to click after a while that I was damaging my mental health.
I deleted my instagram and my tumblr in one fell swoop
I feel good about it so far.
I've been making better use of my time.
i'm reading more, especially graphic novels, which are way more exciting than scrolling.
Currently reading: Sandman.
I'm also playing video games again!
Playing: Coffee Talk.

It's a travesty. Hard to deal with seeing floods of outrage and managing the outrage and news you want to see. I hope you enjoy Sandman, it's probably my favourite graphic novel series (not that I'm a big reader of graphic novels tbh, maybe I should change that). <3
